How to Make a 5” Pinch Bow
Pinch bows are fun, trendy, and incredibly easy to make! Whether you’re crafting for hair accessories, clothing embellishments, or even gift wrapping, this simple tutorial will guide you through each step.
Materials Needed:
• Preprinted Pinch Bow Cutouts or a 5” X 18” strip of fabric. You can also use our 5” X 60” patterned fabric strips to create these with Liverpool or neoprene. We have 1000’s of designs to choose from.
• Sharp Scissors
• Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
• Ruler

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Cut Out the Neoprene Bow Strip
• Place your neoprene fabric on a flat surface.
• Using sharp scissors, carefully cut along the template outline to ensure smooth edges. If using your own fabric cut out a 5” x 18” strip of fabric.
Step 2: Trim the edges
• Place the neoprene fabric rectangle in front of you, fold it in half lengthwise, (hot dog style) with the right sides facing each other.
• Trim your folded right end at an angle.
• Unfold your fabric and lay it flat in front of you and fold into 3 even parts.
Step 3: Pinch and Secure the Center
• Hold the folded fabric at the center and pinch it to create a bow shape.
• Secure the pinched center with a rubber band and adjust to make sure both sides look even. You can also use a piece of thread.
• Take your 1” center and roll / fold it inward at the longest sides. Wrap around the middle of your bow and either tie or glue to secure.
Step 4: Attach the Hair Clip
• Slide in your alligator clip and apply a small amount of hot glue to the back of the bow’s center.
• Hold it in place until completely dry and secure.
Step 5: Trim & Add Embellishments (Optional)
• If needed, trim any uneven edges for a clean look.
• Add embellishments like rhinestones, fabric flowers, or buttons using a small amount of hot glue.
Step 6: Style & Enjoy!
Your neoprene 5” Pinch Bow is now ready to wear or gift! Clip it into your hair, attach it to a headband, or use it as a stylish clothing accessory.
